It is officially Christmas Eve Day and time to log into www.NORADSanta.org to track the jolly elf as he makes his rounds tonight. Hope he stops at my house.
The Fatman got here right on time and left goodies for e eryone.
Hope you also had a Merry Christmas, and that you were surrounded by those who love you.
So, another year has passed.
I was talking to the wife last night as we sat by the meager fire trying to keep warm while we read by candlelight.
“Sweety”, I said (I call her that sometimes), “we’ve got enough wood for one more fire, enough bread in the oven for one more meal, and enough leather to make one more pair of shoes. Perhaps life isn’t so bad after all”.
She didn’t answer right away, her book lowered to her lap, she snuggled closer to me and tucked her head into my neck.
“Perhaps”, she said.
We sat there for quite a while watching the fire glow in the dim light before we rose together and shuffled off to bed.
